The Republic of Guatemala has joined the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), bringing the total number of Member States of the Organisation to 184.

In accordance with Article 35 of the 1928 Paris Convention relating to International Exhibitions, the Government of the Republic of Guatemala submitted the instruments for accession to the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 25 April 2024. France, as the depository for the Convention notified the Secretariat of the BIE that the Republic of Guatemala has adhered to the Convention.

Guatemala participated for the first time in an International Exhibition at World Expo 1855 in Paris. Since then, it has been regularly present at World and Specialised Expos. Guatemala was a Member of the BIE for the first time from 2007 to 2020, before rejoining the Organisation in 2024.
